Divine Dantes Inferno PS3 Only!

500x_dantedivine

EA has announced today that PS3 owners who are looking to pick up Dante’s Inferno due to release Feb 09 2010 will receive the exclusive “Divine” edition, something I’m sure many 360 owners will be envious of.

This version of the game will come with developer commentaries, a Wayne Barlow digital art book, the games soundtrack as well as a digital copy of the Longfellow translation of Dante Alighiens Inferno, the literature in which the game is based on. A side little tidbit is that if you pre-order at Gamestop you will also get a limited edition Dol….errr I mean figuri….errr I mean action figure  of Dante himself.

Here is the kicker, and I don’t mean the usual ass kicking we’ve gotten used to from EA lately(who have conveniently passed over that responsibility  to Activision) This content comes at no additional charge! That’s right, it’s not $10 more, you don’t have to pay to download…it’ll just straight up be included in the package.

If you’re not too sure if the game is for you, an exclusive(timed) demo will be released on the playstation network today with the weekly update.

I think this is a good sign for gaming. When “Limited editions” were first introduced towards the end of last generation it provided incentive to buy the game day one but with a premium price. This gen devs have been taking advantage of this and packing in useless garbage and charging gamers to throw it out for them. This is a sign that the whole stigma of “Limited editions” may be going the way of the dodo……..or should I say, the way of the old EA?
