Lunar: Silver Star Harmony gets “sexy” limited edition

LunarSSHLEWhy in the world would you release the same damn game 3 times on 3 different platforms?

Because it’s Lunar that’s why!

LunarSCD Lunar’s glory dates back to the Sega CD days when the GameArts classic was localized and published by Working Designs.  It also happens to be the first game that I ever purchased with a Working Designs logo.  The game ended up being one of my favorite RPGs of the day.  Great characters, beautiful anime cutscenes, great story, fun battle system, DRAGONS! ; Lunar had it all.

LunarPS1Later, Game arts remade the game and once again, Working Designs was gracious enough to localize and grace us with its release on the Original Playstation.  The package was spectacular and it was more than my pleasure to play this great game through once again.

Now, it seems as if it’s time for a third release of this fantastic RPG.  But this time, without Working Designs around to scoop up the publishing duties (*sniff*), Xseed is jumping at the chance.  The game will have it’s differences this time around with new new localization, soundtrack, battle system and visuals.  Sounds good to me!

Set for release in Q1 of 2010, Lunar: Silver Star Harmony for PSP will be priced at $29.99.  However, Xseed has also announced that they will be releasing a nice little Limited edition package that will run you an extra $10 ($39.99 for those that suck at math) and will include a soundtrack CD and a set of 13 “bromide” collector cards highlighting the chicks in the game.  Mmmm… bromide collectibles.  Nice!

Sign me up.  Anyone that loves RPGs should definitely have this one on their radar, and buy the limited edition would ya!

Later people.
