Multiplayer Castlevania makes me smile
There have been some rumors going around about a 2D Castlevania hitting the 360 that will allow up to 6 players. Seems as if that rumor may have been confirmed by the Australian Classification Board.
GamerBytes reports that the Australian Classification Board rated Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, suggesting the game would be up to 6 players and would include many favorite characters from past Castlevania games. Some of the characters rumored to be available to play are Soma Cruz (Aria & Dawn of Sorrow), Alucard (Dracula’s Curse & Symphony of the Night), Jonathan Morris (Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin) , Shanoa (Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia), and Charlotte Aulin (Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin).
Needless to say, I’m very excited. Mulitplayer Castlevania and my favorite character in the series to be included (Alucard).
Rumor has it that the game will be released on XBLA and players will have to team up to take down bosses. Sounds like Castlevania mixed with a little Monster Hunter to me. SIGN ME UP!
This is a very different approach for Konami. Seems like this may be an experiment of sorts to see if a) Multiplayer in Castlevania can work and b) if there is a demand for Castlevania on consoles. I, for one, hope this succeeds.
You can bet that I’ll be spending quite a bit of time in Konami’s booth at E3 trying to get the lowdown on, not only this, but Lords of Shadow as well!
You guys ready to take down some big Castlevania baddies? Dibs on Alucard!
Later, people.
Day one purchase.
