InDis teams up with GOG.com!
So some great news on the InDis front.
We’ve teamed up with Good Old Games (GOG.com) to create a new segment on the show.
For those of you not familiar with GOG.com, they bring outstanding older PC titles back and make them more compatible with Windows XP and Vista. Then, they bundle it in a nice little package for really cheap with no DRM! NO FREAKIN’ DRM!!! How cool is that! Inside said little package, in many cases, you will find extras as well! Extras like art, soundtracks, wallpapers, etc. Good stuff! I mean… some of these games, you can get off GOG for less than the amount you would pay for JUST the soundtrack, then GOG turns around and gives you the soundtrack too! Bonus!
So what the heck are we doing with them, you may ask. Good old games and InDis have come together to create… Good Old Distractions. Each month, GOG.com has agreed to supply us with a game which they will choose from their catalog, and at the end of each month, the InDis crew will review the game and give it a “Distraction” rating (similar to our Month in Review segment). That’s not all… there’s stuff in this for YOU GUYS too! GOG has also given us codes for YOU! Each week we will give away one code for the game that we are playing that month. How do you win this code you might ask? That’s simple… just send us an email (email@interactivedistractions.com) and we’ll randomly choose a name each week. We’ll make it even easier too… after you enter once, you’re entered for the entire month! I KNOW… HOW AWESOME ARE WE! OK so I’m going overboard. But come on, this is great stuff!
The first game they have chosen for us… Beyond Good and Evil! How about that for a place to start? You will hear the first Good Old Distraction segment when we release episode 79 on June 1st! Until then, you’ll hear us talk about the game on the show, so go check out the game and play along with us!
The one thing that’s still up in the air… the name of the segment. Sure, Good Old Distractions sounds great… but we’re not really comfortable with the short name it creates. We’re pretty sure that this segment will be good, but we don’t think it has the right to be called “GOD.” So suggest us a name, or a different short name, and if we pick yours, we’ll give you a code for Beyond Good and Evil too!
