GoW To continue after III
God of War III could likely be my most anticipated game of 2010. However, the day of March 31st will be bittersweet as Sony has stated in the past that this will indeed finish up the trilogy and possibly be the end of the series in general……..or will it?
John Howard told www.gamervision.com recently that they intend to keep the GoW series running past the 3rd game.
This is definitely the end of the trilogy, but we’re going to continue to do God of War games. We’re going to be very careful about what we do, we’re the keepers of the franchise and we don’t want to see it ruined or polluted
This should be music to many ears as the thought of Sony ending one of their most popular (and recently incredibly influential) franchises.
Then again this shouldn’t come as a surprise since what is popular, makes money. We heard Bungie say it with Halo and Kojima with Metal Gear Solid. As long as they don’t start making Kratos card games or a GoW collectathon I will happily pay my hard earned money to wreck havoc in one of my most favourite gaming universes ever created.
After a long and hard deliberation of what they could possibly do with this franchise that isn’t GOW proper, I cannot think of a single thing that would not be hugely harmful to the integrity of the series. The only thing I would even want is a 2D GOW down-loadable on the PSN, and I don’t even think that would be a great idea.
