Dragon Age Expansion Announced, DLC Delayed

A week ago it was rumoured that BioWare was going to release a retail package expansion for what very well could be our RPG Game of the Year – Dragon Age: Origins. Well, EA has put the speculation to rest today with an official announcement.

The Awakening will be a true expansion to the game and will hit stores and online outlets (see PSN, Steam and XBLM) on March 16 and will put you back $40. Ok, before everyone goes crazy at that price, BioWare is giving us a brand new territory as well as enemies, items and abilities, the chance to respec your main character or even start out with an entirely new Gray Warden. Not only that, but for those who have completed the game and have been sitting at level 20 for a while, The Awakening will also increase the level cap (although no limit was mentioned)

The expansion takes place after the events of Dragon Age: Origins and will be available for PC, 360 and PS3.

On another not so bright note, BioWare also brought on some bad news. The post launch DLC scheduled to hit XBL and PSN this week called Return to Ostagar has been delayed. No word yet on to when we will be able to get our hands on the content, but they will announce something as soon as they can.

Lets hope it’s not too long. We all know how bitchy Morrigan can get….impatient bitch!
